[there's something about Winchesters. the way they'll always find the other no matter what (except in the case of John, who was a bit of a pain in the ass about that). Sam's arrival is met by a) scoping out the area temporarily and b) looking for a certain Impala. he knows Dean is there, after all.

he finds the Impala soon enough—and the nearby fort. he moves up to the entrance and knocks on the door, shuffling the two bags he's carrying into a better position on his shoulder. he brushes his fingers over his hidden gun, having already picked up that the zombies here are a bit more horror-movie-esque, but it doesn't really seem like they're out for blood]
